I worked for an Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the early internet days. I've had a lot of experience with running email servers. A lot of my time was spent stopping spammers who were forging our domain name as the sender. It's very easy to spoof emails. There are some simple ways to follow the path of an email from sender to recipient from the email message header. Any discrepancy in the email's path indicates the email isn't what it seems. This critical header information wasn't included in the Daily Mail's release. It hasn't been displayed on any of this rumor's rebroadcasts. I would withhold judgement until this information is provided. I suggest others not jump to conclusions on the basis on unverified emails. |
