You can probably teach apes to do it, if you can give them a reason toFind an ape than can reason. It's not a reasoning issue, it's a motivation issue. They don't need to use a gun, plus no handler wants to teach them how to use or supply them with one, so no gun use. Apes have used tools, along with birds and dolphins That's not tool use; tools are used to build something more complex than the tool itself. No, tool use is using external objects to accomplish a task. Nest-building and dam-building are not, by themselves, tool use because the sticks and twigs are being used as building materials, not to assist in the actual building. If a beaver were to build a sled to carry the sticks to its dam, then it would be tool use. Using an epithet doesn't remove accountability. |
