I can’t believe a car built in America After 1935 didn’t have a synchronizer for first gear.I don’t think you’re making it up but that’s silly. 1967 - some kind of Chrysler, I forget what brand. I tried shifting from second to first while moving often enough before my brain finally accepted that it just couldn't be done. Maybe it was doable with just the perfect combination of gas and clutch, but it sure wasn't straightforward, or anything I could figure out. You could go really slow in second though, which made it less bad. |
