Not necessarily. People working three jobs in hopes of keeping up with rent, utilities and food are NOT "improving" their lives, they're barely surviving. Nor do they have ANY time to devote to learning skills to better their situation. The republicans keep people in this underpaid rut, they get a cheap, exhausted (lack of free time eliminates the chance of unionization, and additional training previously mentioned that makes one's labor more valuable, etc.) labor pool only serving to increase their profits.
