Yes, you DO. That money comes from taxes (including future finances to pay any debt the government incurs). Everyone pays according to income, then the money gets pooled and paid out for a myriad of purposes, some better than others.

Even people that don't qualify for a check Benefit from this, as those funds are going to help keep the same small businesses, like restaurants and tourism-related businesses for one example, remain in business for ALL as we all recover from the pandemic.
