This was the worst nuclear accident in the West until 2011 and less radiation was released than a coal plant emits in a year (coal is the most radioäctive form of electricity generation). This proves the absolute safety of nuclear power.2. Chernobyl: I agree we shouldn’t use Soviet designs for our nuclear power plants, so we don’t. Useless example. 3. Fukushima: this one is the only one to actually impugn nuclear power in the “West”. But still, no one died, and fewer people will die (from cancer) from the radiation release than would have died had all that power been produced by coal. |
