YesI believe the former President is such a narcissist that he was happy they were doing it even if he didn’t recruit them for that purpose. In my opinion, it is sufficient to convict based on his complete inaction when violence was first erupting. He is like a fire chief who for months talks about fire at a movie theater, then gives a speech on how great a fire would be in general, and then goes back to the fire station and doesn’t do anything to make sure that fire department can adequately respond to fire at a movie theater. Had Trump immediately taken to Twitter or other media feeds when the storming of the Capitol took place and unequivocally said this is not what I meant please disperse so Congress can do its job, I would have found him not guilty. |
