In fact, he wants a peaceful transition.He waited too long to say so, and said it too halfheartedly. His law suits between Nov. 7 and Dec. 14 were pointless and unsubstantiated, but he had the right to file at least some of them (those that weren't the total height of judicial frivolity). His claims of a steal between Dec. 14 and Jan. 6 were disgusting and harmful to the country, but not criminal. His pressuring Pence to violate the Constitution was disgusting and outrageous; I won't argue whether or not it was criminal. His urging his supporters and endorsing Rudy's call for "trial by combat" is either gross negligence or criminal. So now he wants a peaceful transition. Almost all of the country hopes we'll get it, and hopefully the National Guard will discourage the nuts from trying anything. But he doesn't get an iota of credit for endorsing it now. |
