The basic structure of the liturgical year is:Advent Christmastide the Epiphany (6th January) Ordinary Time (starting with - dah dah dah - the 1st Sunday in Ordinary Time) Ash Wednesday Lent Eastertide Pentecost Trinity Sunday Ordinary Time (resumes) the feast of Christ the King (which has a definite end-of-term feeling) Note the neat, almost chronological progression of the major holidays. |
