The reason why the merge was pushed was NYCTPD got the go-ahead to negotiate their next contract with PERB - the same as LIRRPD and MNPD (Before THEY both merged with SIRTPD, creating the MTAPD) - and the scuttlebutt was they were gonna get a huge raise that put them on par as the Railroad PD, and if that happened, NYC would be forced to match the salary to the City and Housing PDs, along with "me too clause" FD. |
