Some people near and dear to me earn their livings as day traders. (Think it can't be done? Scrub through the videos here.) If it passes, the Biden/Harris financial transaction tax will prove ruinous to their careers.

Here's an example: You scalp ROKU at 250 shares as it runs up from $200 to $201. Without the FTT, your profit is $250, subject to short-term capital gains tax. With the FTT, you're taxed at 0.2% of $50,000 for the purchase and 0.2% of $50,250 for the sale. Your profit is now less than $50.







Mayoral candidate Carlos Menchaca's killing of Industry City development was another wake-up call for me. I honestly don't believe the Democratic Party offers anything of value to those who are willing to learn, work, and stay out of trouble.
