As a "recovering" Catholic, we were taught (late 50s grammar school) that if you made 9 first Friday Masses, you would not die without a Priest giving you last rites. Never made that.Another time, I got called down to the principal's office when I got caught desecrating a scapula (remember them?) We were given one to wear around our necks reading "I'am a Catholic, in case of accident, please call a Priest". I got caught scratching out the word "Priest" and wrote in doctor! Man, I guess I'll be going straight to hell all for that! |
