But it wasn't just one person, it's been happening again and again.No, I would not be understanding at all if someone attacked me as you describe. But the whole point here is that people should be secure against such attacks by anyone, whether by private citizens or by agents of the state. I do think property rights are important too, and are a type of human right. But they are not AS important being secure against being shot in your bed (or having your skull cracked while sitting in your car). Do the issues that have led to recent incidents of unrest compare to "the issues that brought about the Boston tea party"? For many, the answer is a very definite YES. |
