Sure it is!There are 4 states which have both a gubernatorial election and a Senate election in 2020: NH, NC, DE, and MT. In DE and NH, the term of the governor runs later than 1/3/21, allowing the outgoing governor to appoint the Senator to fill the vacancy. The former is a Democrat and the latter is a Republican. In MT and NC, the term of the governor ends upon the qualification of his successor, allowing the incumbent governor to remain in office indefinitely. Both are Democrats. |
