New Zealand is more isolated...Isolation means controlling the border to people entering the country in this context. There's no evidence that Covid is airborne for any distances that require thousands of miles of open ocean to dissipate. Island countries have an advantage in closing their borders. The EU did did re-establish all the border crossings that had been abolished when free travel for EU citizens between EU countries was established. This was particularly easy for Denmark because it's one land boundary was with Germany. |
