Years ago,(starting in 1953) the US (National Hurricane Center)made up the list. Later on, it became international(World Meteorological Organization)Tropical storms don't recognize borders or languages, or customary names in one country or language. The name lists are on a 6 year cycle, and after 6 years, start at the beginning, year 1. You can see the lists for each year on the NOAA site. |
