Greetings to you Jimmymc. I was taken back by ntrain's missive to me but he must have thought that I was totally for what is happening with the looting and destruction. I'm not. Those people perpetrating those crimes should be jailed and punished....and by force if necessary. But it doesn't take away from the fact that we have to finally have a long conversation in this country about race. To many black males have been victims of police actions that sometimes border on total mayhem-----and we finally have to recognize it and get a handle on it. I think it was sports host Stephen A. Smith who said recently that it would be nice if blacks seeked out whites and whietes seeked out blacks and try to get to really know each other and what makes them tick. For me it is personal because my best friend, Terry Collier. happens to be black. I love him like he was my own brother. You know Dr King said it so well in 1963 that you judge a man by the content of his character and not by the color of his skin. That seems to easy to me. Why can't we. Sorry for going on and on but this is quite personal with me and what I am seeing makes me very sad.
