It doesn't matter if Floyd had "intoxicants" in his system or not. If "restraint by the police" is a "contributing factor", then Chauvin is legally responsible. In other words, but for Chauvin's actions, Floyd wouldn't have died.I rewatched that horrifying video. Chauvin keeps his knee on Floyd's neck for eight minutes and fifty seconds. He keeps his knee on Floyd's neck for a full three minutes after Floyd stops moving or breathing. Even after another cop checks for a pulse, Chauvin doesn't take his knee off Floyd's neck. That suggests wanton intent on Chauvin's part. They are trying to twist this any way they can to avoid a conviction. |
