The fact that the line was technically "true" doesn't make it good journalism. I liken it to striking a match and then yelling fire in a crowded theater. There was indeed a "fire", but there was never any danger.I think your analogy is not quite accurate. It's more like somebody lights a match, and somebody else yells fire. The NY Times never highlighted that fact; the readers did. |
