I first heard WXLO (former WOR-FM) in the summer of 73. It wasn't bad. I was living in Illinois, but spent the summer with my grandmother in Brooklyn. When I returned for good in June 1974, WXLO had started branding themselves as 99X. They were still OK then, but by the time I left for L. A. in the late summer of 1976, they were (IMO) a shitshow. |
