When Cuomo enacted the statewide lockdown the prevailing thought was "why should this matter to us, NYC are the ones who are screwed". That attitude is still present. Our hospitals are so capable of handling it that we're handling NYC patients up here and shipping our ventilators down there. We didn't need to be a part of "shelter in place". We could have benefitted from cutting off all travel from the NY metro area, and gone about our business as normal, and this is just within one state. Trying to force the entire country would be a non-starter. |
