Elevator etiquette

Just went outside and saw uber or limo drivers sharing a lunch on a tailgate. People here just don't get it. Oh well. Hopefully we won't pay for it.

Shared an elevator on the way down with one other person. So far my rule of thumb is that if more than two others get on, I get off. But even with just one person we're only 3-4 feet apart and in an enclosed space. What is the proper etiquette?
