Yep, if at the Criminal Courts Building, he'd have to take the Gold Line to Union Station, then Red or Purple to Civic Center.I was summoned a total of 4 times between 1989 and 1998. Usually the Criminal Courts Building, once the Municipal Court on Hill/Washington (was able to take the Blue Line). One time to Criminal Courts West, but after a few hours, I was in a group that they transferred to the CCB. The kicker: This was in November 1994 during OJ jury selection. I was fully prepared to play the USC card if I ended up there, but I didn't. Last time in 1998, not long before I moved to So. Florida, finally I was summoned to Torrance, which is the closest to where I lived (Gardena). Unlike the other times, I was actually chosen (domestic violence case). We heard the opening statements, I think the first prosecution witness (which was the victim), then all of a sudden there was a sidebar and we were sent home for the day. The next day, we showed up and were told that the case could not continue (no explanation, maybe mistrial? plea deal?) and we were released. |
