Posted by Stephen Bauman on Thu Mar 26 12:52:04 2020, in response to NYC tells citizens nothing to worry about for covid-19, go on with your day, posted by Orange Blossom Special on Thu Mar 26 10:52:56 2020. Let's look at the dates and compare them with the situation on the ground at the time they were issued. On March 5th DeBlasio noted the first instance of human-to-human transmission in NYC. There were a total of 4 cases within NYC. The tweet that you posted was from March 2nd, when there were 2 cases and they those people had been staying at home. These people had been staying at home since mid February, without any additional spreading. The posted tweets from Council Member Levine and Health Commissioner Barbot are dated February 9th. That's well before there were any recorded Covid cases in NYC. It was also well before the up to 14 day delay between being communicable and testing positive or showing symptoms. |
