Prayer can be harmful if people come to use it in place of another, actually working, treatment.I'm not underestimating its power and I will discount others' beliefs if those believes do not reflect reality. To the extent that prayer has any positive effect, its effect is identical to any sort of psychosomatic effect, where an optimistic outlook may contribute to healing and recovery. |
