I guess "ray of hope" in your mind = "mission accomplished".

My "ray of hope" won't begin until after one of the treatments under study is proven to be effective.

It won't be "mission accomplished" because there's still the manufacturing and distribution logistics problem to solve.

NYC vaccinated 6.3 million residents against smallpox in a 1 month period in 1947. 5 million were vaccinated within the first 2 weeks. The City started with only 650,000 vaccines on hand.

This crisis is much bigger because the disease has spread beyond a handful of people and it effects the entire country and the world. That's 6 billion doses to manufacture and a distribution area much larger than NYC's 300+ square miles.
