That's pretty much what Nate Silver just wrote on Twitter. He pointed out that in Wuhan, a case typically became part of the data about 2 weeks after an infected person became symptomatic. This is likely to be longer in the US because we're not doing as well on testing.The night Rudy Gobert tested positive there were 1,321 confirmed cases in the US, as seen on the CSSE dashboard. Because there are only 390 active N.B.A. players in the world (and now three have tested positive), that suggested to me that the actual number of cases was much higher.  |
