Since the kind of testing we really need done isn't happening, it is plausible that there are many, many times the known number of COVID-19+ people out there already infected, but asymptomatic.I would agree this was quite possible, except for the fact that in South Korea, where they do test widely, they have not found huge numbers of asymptomatic people. In any case, what really matters, whether we have decent testing or not, is the percentage of the population that will get a serious enough case to require hospitalization. It is that percentage, and how it unfolds, that will determine if our medical system gets overwhelmed like Italy's has been.  |
