Someone had to have thought of a better way for their horseless carriage. The energy density of gasoline and heating oil is way higher than that of natural gas. To have natural gas delivered in a truck is quite expensive. To have heating oil delivered isn't that costly. Meanwhile, cars are naturally mobile. So it's easier, safer, and cheaper to drive to the gas station than to have your own (possibly explosive) gasoline tank at home. |
