Doesn't happen often, but I have to say I agree with LuchAAA. I think the cop was totally fishing. The fact that the cop continued to ask about drugs and such after the motorist answered and even explained that he doesn't smoke marajuana. Understanding that we have an obligation to be compliant with an officer's (lawful) instruction, this young man seemed to do everything right during that traffic stop, including asking/advising the cop that he was reaching for documents/releasing seatbelt and so on.I guess my point is... If you're pulling him over for the obstruction violation... He's answered your questions and been totally cooperative. Seems to me that at that point the cop should just do what he decides whether it's issue a warning, ticket or nothing at all, and send the young man on his way. To be honest... Again, I agree with Luch that the cop was unprofessional and he makes things harder for those cops who are doing things the right way. |
