A “machine gun” is not a standard infantry weapon.

Before you respond that I’m being pedantic by not accepting the colloquial term for an automatic rifle, the problem is that anti-gun types really have no idea what they’re talking about, and so we can’t even decide if they’re being reasonable. For example, WTF is an “assault rifle?” That doesn’t even have a common definition.
