Olog, I agree with your first sentence. The problem I have is with your second. Although certain wording is clear, such as the Third Amendment, other places the Constitution is ambiguous and doesn’t define what is meant. As an example of the latter, look at the Eighth Amendment. The Constitution itself does not define what it means by the words excessive bail, excessive fines, or cruel and unusual punishment. What is excessive to you might not appear so to me. |
