Zimmerman's life was never "in danger". Zimmerman chose to accost Trayvon, chose to ignore the police operator's explicit instructions, chose to pursue Trayvon, who had every legal right to be where he was, and chose to physically attack Trayvon. It was only when Trayvon defended himself--as was his right--did Zimmerman produce a gun and proceed to kill Trayvon with it.

Those are the facts.
