The Democratic Party as a whole does not favor government ownership of the means of production. They do not favor the policies of, say, Eugene Debs, or 1950s Labour in Britain. So Socialist Party is a totally incorrect name.It does not as a whole even favor a social welfare state of the form that, say, Denmark, currently is, in which case the name Social Democratic Party would be correct. The Republican Party as a whole does claim to favor the continued implementation of whatever policies President Trump favors on a given day, and so the Trump Party is a correct name for it. |
