Real sheet metal and bumpers that were real bumpers. Modern cars are mostly plastic on the outside, the bumpers are worthless fascias.

For me the race to the bottom began with the introduction of the Ford Taurus in the mid 1980s. Everything after 2010 regardless makers badge is engineered and built to be thrown away even after receiving minor damage or from "normal" wear after following manufacture recommended service intervals.
