About 20 years ago I was visiting my folks in Smithtown. They were packing up to move to Florida and were throwing out cubic yard after cubic yard of junk (my mother was a bit of a hoarder). My youngest brother was there with his two kids, I guess about 5 and 8 at that time.In one box of junk was an old rotary phone. The kids were playing with it. They were pushing their fingers into the holes because all they knew were push button phones. I laughed and showed them how to use the dial. The looks of amazement I got..."What type of sorcery is this!?" was on their faces! |
