What do you mean when you say it?

To me, it's a poorly defined term.

Obviously it includes Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and CBS/NBC/ABC. It also includes the NY Times, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the LA Times, the Boston Globe, and USA Today.

Those media sources have very little in common, so what would you actually say about them as a group?
