There is no doubt that specific walls and fences, mainly built during the Obama presidency but started under Bush, have reduced the influx of undocumented aliens.I am about to visit Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, both in AZ, two areas that were very dangerous before those two administrations beefed up security. It is also quite likely that some fence extensions will help reduce problems. In Sasabe, AZ, a fence extends a few miles on either side of a border crossing. Aliens just go to the end of the fence and walk around. A very sensible extension is currently underway. If Trump hadn't totally poisoned this topic with his rhetoric, there would be bipartisan agreement on improved security, which would include some miles of new fencing. |
