I was at the Javits Center (Hillary's HQ) on Election night in 2016, covering the returns from the press area. We knew Trump was going to win by 9:30, even though the election wasn't called for him until nearly 1:30 AM. Hillary never showed up to address the campaign staff who waited for her until 2:30. Nor did she call Trump to congratulate him that night.I seriously doubt Hillary wants to go through another possible defeat by Trump, given how difficult the experience was for her the first time. In fairness to Hillary, though, it's one thing to lose a Presidential election; but to lose an election to Donald Trump has to be excruciating. I'd be embarrassed, too, especially if by that point, I'd served as a Senator and as SECSTATE. |
