Apply a little critical thinking: if we're not deporting them at all, and not making any effort to prevent them from coming in, and we're "closing ICE facilities" so we cannot even detain them while we vet them, that's de-facto open borders. For some reason Warren is listed as TBD but she recently came out against it as well. They are either being disingenuous on this campaign promise (aka - pandering and lying) or they are going to plunge us into a domestic recession. Confiscate Guns that's confiscate military assault rifles , 2nd amendment doesn't cover you for that. 1. the 2nd amendment doesn't have qualifiers 2. Military assault rifles can do fully-automatic fire and three round burst, and have already been banned with minimal exception for civilian use since the 80s (only older rifles may be re-sold, and there is a huge tax penalty on the sale). Beto wants to confiscate AR-15s. AR-15s are not military assault rifles. They are semi-automatic rifles that look similar to military rifles but are functionally equivalent to many hunting rifles. It would be the equivalent of banning "civilian ownership of military vehicles" but also banning the sale of Hummers or Jeeps because they look similar to military vehicles when you take the doors off. Beto has no chance in hell but if this nonsense infects the Democratic campaign platform, prepare for Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine to go red. |
