You do raise an interesting point about feminine pronouns being applied to things like ships or countries. In fact, Russian tradition holds to the patronymic, referring to ships as "he" rather than she. I shall split the difference and henceforth, which means from now on, refer to countries and ships, planes, and spacecraft as they/them/theirs to reflect gender neutrality as you so astutely suggest.
