No, we don't. And in any event, any sort of indifference or malice from the cities towards the rural areas are equal and opposite to indifference or malice from the rural areas towards the cities.

That having been said, it's not even that. Rural people from states like Illinois have more in common with rural people in states like Iowa and Kansas, but those people aren't heard thanks to the EC. At the same time, urban people in states like Texas and Georgia are similarly disenfranchised. Meanwhile, the interests of city folk who live in swing states like Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania get more attention. Why should the people of Philadelphia, Miami, or Columbus decide elections for the people of Houston, Atlanta, or San Francisco?
