They should stop blaming Netanyahu for Palestinian recalcitrance.Agreed. As for the settlements, I agree, but most people don't know what "area C" is. Area C is the part that Israel controls under the Oslo accords. But I feel that more settlement building serves no real purpose and is a waste of Israeli resources and good will. Worse, the settlements generate tremendous hostility to Israel. I understand that some hostility to Israel is just anti-Semitism, and nothing Israel can do will end that. But some of it is genuine outrage (even if skewed by the fact that many of the outraged people don't express the same outrage toward Russia and China). The settlements are costing Israel hugely. |
