Because Lord knows we NEED a Great Uniter in this country and in this world.You know, my mother always told me that after WWII ended and the world learned of the extent of Nazi hate and atrocities, that the world would finally learn to give up on hate and prejudice. That people would realize that the only way civilization will survive is if we all work together, Black, White, Jew, Gentile and everyone else. When she was in her last years she would show me her Auschwitz number on her arm and tell me that she couldn’t believe that the world could be so stupid as to allow hate to rise again. She died in 2006. I can’t imagine how much more disappointed she’d be today. Barack Obama is what he is. What I resent about him is that he accepted all of the huzzahs and hosannas whole knowing full well that he was either incapable of or unwilling to be the Great Uniter. In fact, racial animosity under his Presidency to the point where a Donald Trump could be elected. Donald Trump!! And now Obama’s going to live in a $15M mansion while ordinary black folks are no better off than they were. Obama got rich and famous while accomplishing nothing. |
