He was more than just a union rep. He was President of the Screen Actors Guild, twice. SAG-AFTRA is an AFL-CIO union to this day.

That's what kills me about the way he treated PATCO. Reagan actually helped organize MGM and RKO early in his career, so he knew full well the value of the ability to strike.
