Nazi Germany was the most well-established, advanced industrialized country on Earth (at the outbreak of WWII, even the US was behind them in both literacy and technology, although that changed rapidly once we were moved to action).Their attempt to conquer most of the rest of Europe caused the deaths of sixty million human beings. The war was a much closer thing (especially in 1940 and 41) than the Allies ever admitted. Imagine if they had been the victors and reaped the spoils. Would that be acceptable, just because it's been that way "since the beginning of time"? |
