Maybe now, Joe Giradi banned all facial hair when he managed the Yankees (I think also the year he managed the then-Florida Marlins). Apparently, Aaron Boone has relaxed the restriction. George Steinbrenner bought the Yankees just around the time that facial hair was really starting to take off in MLB. He banned beards but accepted mustaches. |
