The Paris Commune was also when the Internationale was written.

It was sung to the Marseillaise, in the Commune. The current melody did not appear until 1888.

I don't doubt Sanders knows how to sing it in English.

One of the English versions contains the following:

Let no one build walls to divide us,
Walls of hatred nor walls of stone.
Come greet the dawn and stand beside us,
We'll live together or we'll die alone.
