I didn't say they needed those people for the field their degrees were in, just that they hire them.For New York State, the bi-annual Professional Career Opportunities exam has the only requirement to have graduated college. More than half the titles filled by it have no restriction on what the degree is in. The best hope people with useless degrees have for getting a job more fulfilling than retail or food service is to take one of these jobs. Thus, they get people to fill positions for half the pay they would make in a comparable job in the private sector. Were it not for useless degrees, |
