He's been reelected to Congress three times, and was chosen to deliver the rebuttal to Trump's SOTU last year, a signal that the Democrats were looking at him as a fresh, young (he's 38) Kennedy face that could energize a new generation of voters. He has a good voting record, isn't seen as radical like AOC, and has a solid grasp of traditional Democratic values. It may be that a Kennedy--either as the candidate or the running mate--might be just the tonic the party needs against Trump. He'd be a real feel-good candidate, instead of one being picked apart like Sanders or Klobuchar. Just a thought. |
